Sensory Decompression and Integration Course

  March 2025  - Registration closed

June 2025  - expected next class iteration with registration opening May 1st or sooner

A foundational approach to processing experiences with specific emphasis on navigating the often neglected sensory component and other common pitfalls.  The sensory component of experiences is as real and important as the thoughts, emotions, and memories of an experience, but it is more often missed and unresolved; this results in residual triggers and physiologic loading.  This course seeks to teach you how to identify and resolve these issues.

The skills and principles learned through this approach will help people physiologically integrate their own experiences and also those who want to learn these tools because of their responsibilities for others, professionally or personally.  The starting point can be any goal, experience, symptom, behavior, body part, or belief.

How This Course Works

Four weeks of Live Group Sessions and Course Content Videos.

  • Attend one Live Group Session per week.  Choose the Thursday evening option (8 pm EST) OR Saturday morning option (10 am EST), whichever is convenient for you.  The live portion will last 1 hour.

  • Watch the course content videos during the week.  There will be approximately 15 - 30 minutes of short-segment video content for the week.

  • Devote time to practice and gain experience.  Around 45 minutes per week (5 mins per day or 15 minutes each three times per week) is recommended for your personal practice.

  • FAQs and more information below.

Live Group Sessions

Live Group Sessions are an essential part of the learning process.  They provide you with hands-on experience, live-guided learning, and a community which will enhance your own understanding and practice.

You will choose and attend one Live Group Session per week (two options are usually provided each week - often Thursdays at 8 pm EST and Saturdays at 10 am EST).  Access instructions and the Zoom link will be provided to you.

Any questions you have throughout the course can be submitted at any time in the Group Forum.  At the beginning of each Live Group, submitted questions will be reviewed and answered.

See the Course Outline below for more information about what to expect.

Course Outline

Sensory Decompression and Integration

Week 1 - The Process

This week you will learn the basic naming, decompression, and integration process.  We will walk you through it from a variety of starting points.  Think of decompression like pouring out the puzzle pieces, seeing what is there, and integration like putting the puzzle together.  Attend one Live Group Session then use the Week 1 Course Content Videos at your pace during the week to review and gain personal experience.

Week 2 - Environment

This week is focused on the environment in which this process flourishes.  You will learn how to find your "learning" or "flow" window.  Concepts such as advocacy, humility, intentional slowness, and clean space will be explained.  Attend one Live Group Session then use the Week 2 Course Content Videos at your pace during the week.

Week 3 - What Happens

In the third week the focus will be on what happens when you apply the process - things are revealed, or integrate, or action is needed.  There will be an emphasis on experiencing and navigating common pitfalls associated with each stage.   Attend one Live Group Session then use the Week 3 Course Content Videos at your pace during the week.

Week 4 - Why This Works For Anything

In the final week, the focus will be on how you can apply this process to different areas of your life as diverse as beliefs, goals, childhood programming, addictions, physical injuries, intense experiences such as surgery or childbirth, etc ... - identifying things that are not integrated without guessing or assuming.  There will be time for review and suggestions for moving forward.  Attend your final Live Group Session then use the Week 4 Course Content Videos to review and strengthen your understanding and experience.

What do I need to do?

1) Decide if this course and the timing are right for you.  See the Checklist for Deciding.

2)  Purchase and register for the course and mark your calendar for the Live Group sessions you will attend.

3)  Suggested:  If you do not have one, purchase a trigger-point tool (such as the TheraCane Max or a similar product) for use during and after the course.  These cost around $35.  International class members may find a different product is cheaper.

4)  The Course Content Videos will be unlocked each week after the Live Group Session.  Work through the material at an intentional, digestible pace each week, taking time for personal practice.

How much does the course cost?

This course is a bundle including:

Course Content Videos ($60) and access to four weekly Live Group Sessions ($20) = $80*

Other questions... and their answers!

What if I sign up but can't attend all of the Sessions?

If you know you cannot commit or devote time to these Live Group Sessions, Course Content Videos and the time (recommended around 45 minutes per week) for practicing, we recommend that you do not take the course (see the Checklist for Deciding).  Plan to attend all four Live Group Sessions if possible.  Remember, you can attend either Thursdays at 8 pm EST or Saturdays at 10 am EST.  If you know you will miss one but feel confident in your commitment, then use the content videos to review the material from that week.

What do I do if I miss a Live Group Session?

We understand that important things come up, including emergencies.  However, if you know that you cannot attend the live sessions (remember, you have two session options each week), please do not take the course at this time.

What if I didn't watch one or more of the Course Content Videos during the week?

You will have the videos throughout the month and afterward to review at anytime.  The priorities are the Live Group Session and your personal practice time.

What if I didn't practice the process/techniques during the week?

Great question!  This process works well but it is like a muscle.  If you don't use it, it won't grow stronger, and you won't identify your personal pitfalls or impulses.  Things won't work until you practice and utilize them.

Can I attend both the Thursday and the Saturday Live Group Sessions?

You may attend both Live Group Sessions if it is helpful to you.  We ask that you exercise restraint in your questions if you are attending a second group so that others may also have the opportunity to speak.

What if I don't have a trigger-point tool?

Well, this particular application of the sensory decompression and integration process won't work quite as well without the tool we are using in this context.  You'll have a harder time getting to hard-to-reach spots on your back and applying the process to myofascial contexts.  But it will be okay, you can get by without one.  It is strongly suggested to have one for this particular course but not required.

Where do I find the trigger-point tool?  How much does it cost?

Look for something like the TheraCane Max (it can be found on Amazon) or another similar product.  They cost around $35.  International class members may find a different product is cheaper.

What should I do if multiple family members are interested?

One registration is sufficient if desired, but you would need to share log-in information.  You can attend the same or different Live Group Sessions.  You may want to consider purchasing a trigger-point tool for each person, though it is also possible to share and that's up to you.  You may also register separately if desired.

I don't understand the material?

There can be a learning curve with any new material.  Attend the Live Group Sessions, watch the Course Content Videos, and feel free to submit any questions you have in the Group Forum.  Many questions will be answered during the Live Group Sessions and Content Videos, so lean on those first.  We are here to help and as you gain experience with the process, you will gain confidence.

Why do I have to practice?

We could do a mini-course to answer to this question!  We want you to receive real value and benefit from this material.  A cognitive approach to understanding will not be enough for integration as a whole person, and the whole-person integration is the experience by which you will begin to actually see encouraging growth, results, and change.  Muscles are worked to grow stronger, and the more experience you gain in the appropriate context, the more you will understand and know what is working for you, and develop an internal (intuitive) sense of what works.

Will this material always be available to me once I have registered for this course?

Your access is guaranteed during the course and for four weeks after, so that you can use all the content videos to review as desired during the course.  The primary material is intended to stay consistent across time, but no content is 100% guaranteed forever, and you should primarily work to internalize material as you are taking the course by practicing, taking notes, and attending the Live Groups.

Will my personal issues resolve with this approach?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.  The tools, insights and experience gained during the process may be sufficient for certain issues to resolve or allow you to know what direction to take with resources available to you locally.  Additionally, if necessary, you could consider one-on-one work , future courses and Community Groups.  Things do not always resolve immediately but you should be able to tell if you are on the right track and making healthy progress.  Contact us via Consulting if you have questions.

I have personal questions?

Please feel free to schedule a Consult after completing the course.

Does my camera have to be on during the Live Group Session?

No, your camera does not need to be on.

Are there any prerequisites for taking this course?

No prerequisites.  This course is for anyone.

What if the cost of this course is out of my reach?

Please go to our Checklist and navigate through the provided material.  If, after walking through those questions personally, you feel that this Course is something you want to commit to at this time, we can provide help or reduced cost if that is needed.  See the Course FAQs above for instructions.

Is this group therapy or counseling?

No, it's not group therapy or counseling.  It is learning in a group setting.  You can learn more about our approach on the Checklist page, which has information about how to decide if this is right for you at this time and what we intend to provide with the Course Content and Live Group Sessions.

If I have a group of people who are interested in this, can we request a private class/group?

Yes.  Contact us and we will be happy to work with you or to answer questions.  Typically this can be done with a 2-3 months notice and we can arrange private live sessions either online or in-person.  We do ask that at least one person arranging the group have already experienced at least one Course or 1:1 Client work so there is a basic understanding of the process and so you are confident it is of proven value to yourself before inviting others.  We strongly prefer internal referrals because we want our community to have real, personal experience with the process, a high-utilization rate, clarity, and known value.

Do you accept referrals from other professionals?

Not until the professional has personal experience with the process and it has known value to them.  Please take a Course if this applies to you.  You are welcome to reach out with questions but are most likely to be encouraged to take a basic course and then to discuss referrals based on that experience.

Can I take this course more than once without having to purchase it again?

The primary course content will remain available to you as long as it continues in the Coalesco Resources.  You can register and purchase access at a reduced rate to the "Live Group Sessions Only" when they are offered in the future if you desire to do that portion of the course again.

Can I purchase this course as a gift for someone?  Or may I help to cover the cost for someone who cannot cover their own course cost at this time?

Yes.  If you are also taking the course, then complete your own registration and then a 2nd registration with the e-mail address of the person you are gifting it to.  If only for them, simply complete one registration, but direct it to their email during the checkout process.
